Anyone that has an excessive sweating problem want to know what causes it and more importantly what they can do to stop sweating. I’m not talking about night sweats or cold sweats but profuse sweating throughout the day for no apparent reason. There are many places that can be affected but the most common are sweaty palms, sweaty hands and sweaty armpits. Sweating too much can cause a lack of confidence and can be very embarrassing.

So what are the causes of excessive sweating?
There can be many reasons for excess sweating and they range from thyroid problems to infections that you may have in the body or even diabetes. Sweat glands release sweat when you exercise so that body will have moisture on it to cool it down when there is a breeze or when the person is moving and wind passes over the body. But when you sweat when not exercising you most likely suffer from a condition called hyperhidrosis which is a scientific word meaning you are healthy but just sweat a lot. Many things are believed to cause hyperhidrosis such as a stroke, alcoholism, diabetes, pregnancy and cancer. I know you are probably saying that you don’t suffer from any of the aforementioned but doctors are still researching all of the excessive sweating causes.

There are many things that can be done to try to control hyperhidrosis. The most common is to use antiperspirants but most of them are not strong enough. You can also try using medications but they cost a lot of money. Surgery is another option if you can afford a few thousand dollars to stop sweating.
